The Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. We want to thank our many colleagues and friends who over the years have offered — and continue to provide — advice, guidance, and support.

We take this opportunity to acknowledge the founder of the Tufts Center, Dr. Louis Lasagna, and announce the renaming of the Tufts Center’s library in his honor.

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Recognize and solve practical, theoretical, and technical problems in drug studies
• Identify and analyze an experimental design for human drug studies using a case-study approach
• Integrate the relevant pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and statistics related to drug development and the nature of evidence required for proof of efficacy and safety
• Understand the science, laws, and regulations pertaining to the development and review of new drug products.
