Maria is a Senior Consultant at the Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development at Tufts University School of Medicine, where she focuses on pharmaceutical regulatory policy, technology adoption and digital transformation in the biopharmaceutical sector, and operational efficiency across the drug development lifecycle—from idea to patient.
Her work has been published in leading health policy and medical journals, including JAMA Network Open, Nature Communications, Therapeutic Innovation & Regulatory Science, and Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics. She speaks regularly at domestic and international conferences and serves as a peer reviewer for several journals including npj Digital Medicine, Contemporary Clinical Trials, Scientific Reports, and Health Research Policy and Systems.
Previously, Maria held advisory and strategy roles at NewYork-Presbyterian (Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons), Cleveland Clinic Innovations, and served on the executive team of Shield Biotech, an early-stage cancer immunotherapy company and Cleveland Clinic spinoff.
Maria holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in economics from Stony Brook University and a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD), with a concentration in international economics, from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
